CHINESE NEW YEAR EXPERIENCE 2023

新春快乐

2023年1月21日，在中国农历兔年新春来临之际，由留学生管理办公室主办，国际文化交流协会（ICEA）协办的“兔年兴旺”中国新年体验活动在南湖留学生宿舍活动室顺利举行，来自世界各地的在校国际学生共同庆祝中国农历兔年的到来，感受了一把地道中国年味。

On the afternoon of January 21, 2023, the activity named "Chinese New Year Experience" was successfully held in the Activity Room of Nanhu International Student Dormitory organized by the International Students Office and International Culture Exchange Association (ICEA) of WUT. This activity was aimed at the celebration and beginning of the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Rabbit.

来自世界各地不同国籍的国际学生们为大家准备了自己国家的传统美食，活动以品尝和体验美食拉开序幕。大家在中国除夕夜欢聚一堂，相互分享令人垂涎的菜肴和各国的文化。同时，大家载歌载舞，特色的音乐、欢乐的舞蹈以及精彩有趣的游戏让每一个参与其中的国际学生共同享受这难忘的时光，每个人脸上都洋溢着快乐和幸福的笑容。

The Activity commenced with the tasting and experiencing cuisine from different parts of the world prepared by students from different nationalities and backgrounds from all over the world. There were truly astounding and mouth-watering dishes which shared a piece of their culture with other people. Furthermore, there were moments of recreation and entertainment with music, dances from different countries, along with exciting and fun games that brought up smiles and moments of joy to all the people who had participated in this activity.

活动期间，大家通过参与“筷子夹乒乓球”、“气球套纸杯”、“额头运球”等游戏，既考验了参与者对中国筷子的使用技巧，又促进了同学们之间的团队协作能力，游戏现场不断响起掌声、喝彩声和欢笑声。

Starting with the first game, the objective was to collect the balls with chopsticks and walk with them in a zig zag pathway from one table and successfully placing them in a glass in another table. Then the next game , competitors would have to blow up a balloon inside an empty glass and blow it as big as they can until they could lift the paper glass from one table to another without using their hands or any other part of their body. In addition to that, another game where students had to work in pairs and hold a cup between their foreheads from one table to another and make it stand without fail. Whoever dropped the cups or the cups didn’t stand on the table they had to do their task all over again. These games was exciting and not only a test to see the participant’s chopstick using skills, but also a chance to promote teamwork.

当春节联欢晚会开始时，所有的国际学生共同观看了晚会节目，在中国有较长时间生活和学习经验的同学向新同学介绍着中国的种种文化和自己经历过的趣事。最后，此次活动在激动人心的“击鼓传花”中迎来高潮，大家以书为媒，鼓励各位同学进行唱歌、跳舞和其他表演，每一位同学都在享受这一刻的美好时光。

All the students enjoyed the night party and performance. The Final game in which a book was passed around from hand to hand, when the supervisor said stop, the person who had the book in hand had to sing, dance or create any sort of entertainment for the people. There was a scent of excitement in the air as it was very random and if some of the activity participants were not prepared they had to make up something very quick and funny.

2023新年体验活动在大家的欢歌笑语中圆满落下帷幕，在校国际学生踊跃参与，体验了新的文化，留下了美好的回忆，也许下了2023年的新年愿望。留学生管理办公室为每一位留校国际学生发放了牛奶、巧克力、纸巾、口罩等新年慰问物品，让大家感受到家的温暖。活动虽然短暂，但新的一年才刚刚开始，祝大家新年快乐、兔年大吉、平安喜乐、万事顺意!

Chinese New Year Experience 2023, concluded with everyone being very contented, with a taste of many new cultures and many good memories. There was a huge and very active participation by international students of WUT. With the New Year Activity coming to an end and a New Lunar Year just beginning, so is the beginning of a long journey of hard work and struggle for the fulfillment of each and every person’s hopes and dreams. International Students Office prepared the new year gifts including milk, chocolate biscuit, tissue, masks and other things for every student in school. We wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope everyone to have a great Year of the Rabbit.
